02 / DETAILA closer look at the gameplay
First check: Alpha Playtest 1 is marked ended
Ronin presents Aquarium Quest as an aquarium-management game: arrange an environment, raise fish and combine them with decorations to gather resources. However, the official entrance read on October 24 says “Alpha Playtest 1 Has Ended” and asks readers to stay tuned for Playtest 2. This guide explains the published design; it does not establish current registration or playable access. A Ronin listing alone does not confirm wallet requirements, asset ownership or cash redemption.
The guide separates freshwater and saltwater tanks. Fish and decorations must match their tank’s biome, while brackish items are described as compatible with either. Fish, decorations, crafting and hatching each have capacity limits, so expansion starts with identifying the limiting slot rather than simply adding more fish. Published tank conditions include pH, temperature, hygiene and oxygen. These are game-management indicators, not real aquarium-care values or a verified optimal setup for the current client.
Pair fish harvest types with decoration resource nodes
More fish do not automatically mean access to the materials you need. The Fish guide says harvest types must match resource nodes created by decorations. A useful planning order is to choose a desired material, then pair the appropriate decoration and fish. Rearranging a decoration within a tank is also different from moving it into inventory: the latter is documented to consume energy, apply a cooldown and reset the harvest timer. That makes the timing of collection relevant before a move. These are published rules, not outcomes verified through gameplay.
Energy is described as the shared action resource for harvesting, hatching, moving items, crafting and exploration. Published locations include the Whirlpool for Bubbles, the Sea Slug for random results and the Seabed Temple for energy recovery. The choice is whether to spend the available resource on collection or reserve it for another activity. Published costs, recovery intervals and reward ranges are documentation values; their continued validity after the ended Alpha has not been tested. Random rewards are not guaranteed outcomes or evidence of cash income.
The Shop guide distinguishes Bubbles earned through activities from the rarer premium currency Coral. They are used for eggs, food, decorations and materials. The presence of Coral does not establish mandatory cash spending or that every feature is free. The Battle Pass also separates a playtest-period track from the exclusive track for Founder’s Pass holders. Current pass prices, whether a pass is required for ordinary participation, personal eligibility from Japan, external-wallet requirements and cash-redemption arrangements remain unverified.
Separate documented setup from the next test entrance
Getting Started documents Discord sign-in, a username, a freshwater or saltwater starter tank, and starter fish and decorations. Since the current entrance displays the ended-test notice, those instructions are not presented as a working registration route today. For a future test, check the official entrance first and then its test-specific account, cost and carry-over conditions. Competitive ideas such as the Arena and Tank Defense in the Ronin description are presented as future horizons, not verified currently available modes.
The official entrance marks Alpha Playtest 1 as ended. Next-test admission, current costs and pass prices, personal Japan eligibility, wallet requirements, authentication and gameplay are unverified. Documented currencies and random rewards are not cash-income evidence; future competitive ideas remain separate from current access.
