WEB3 PLAY GUIDE

What is a Web3 game? Separate play, accounts and assets

Web3 games incorporate blockchain-related items or account systems. The label alone tells you neither what is fun, what is free nor whether an NFT purchase is required.

Choose around the gameplay first

Look first at actions and goals: shooting, cards, crafting or exploration. Then check the edition available for your device and its required registration and payments.

Off The Grid — A shooter built around positioning and extraction.
Parallel TCG — A card game where banking a card competes with keeping it in hand.
Treeverse — Exploration and gathering connected to crafting.

Accounts, wallets and NFTs

System	What to check
Game account	Registration for login and progress. Some editions require an account separate from the storefront.
Wallet	A system for assets. Distinguish automatically created embedded wallets from external wallets you connect.
NFT	A blockchain record such as an item. It is not necessarily a required entry purchase; utility and trading conditions vary by game.
