02 / DETAILA closer look at the gameplay

Separate long-season Eternum from a short Blitz match

Realms documentation distinguishes multi-week Eternum seasons from a 60-minute Blitz match. Blitz compresses production, armies and territory into one contest. The official links page labels Eternum Season 1 concluded and Season 2 in development. This guide focuses on the documented Blitz design rather than carrying an old season pass or progression into a different mode.

Production matters only if supplies can reach their destination

Blitz connects production inputs with a supply network. Deliveries depend on weight, travel time and consumable donkeys, so making more resources alone does not ensure that a front line receives them. Compare expanding production with preparing the transport needed to move it. These documented constraints explain why the location and timing of a delivery can matter alongside the quantity produced.

Local construction and world-map control ask different questions

The Local view handles construction, population and production; the World view handles armies, exploration and contested structures. Deployed armies have stamina, while terrain affects movement and combat. Blitz documents scoring through holding Hyperstructures and other world structures. Compare which positions to defend with supply routes and remaining mobility, rather than treating distance alone as progress. No optimal build or current match outcome has been measured here.

Keep the practice bracket separate from paid competitive brackets

The entry guide describes Recruit as a practice bracket without entry stakes, Gladiator and Warrior with LORDS entry fees, and Elite with an invitation condition. It describes refreshed world state for each match rather than persistent match progression. These bracket rules do not establish today’s schedule, universal free access, personal Japan eligibility or prize receipt. Current paid amounts and open sessions remain unverified.

Controller documentation is separate from completed first access

The official guide requires Cartridge Controller and describes credentials and a game session. Recruit using that controller does not mean that wallet infrastructure is absent; transferring assets from another wallet is a separate use case. The official Empire link returned a deployment 404 in this check. The Eternum link redirected to Realms: Blitz, whose settled body was empty. No authentication, signature or participation followed; these observations do not establish service-wide closure or Japanese unavailability.
