Start with weapon slots. A one-handed weapon leaves a slot available for a shield. A two-handed weapon uses both slots; the documentation describes greater power at the cost of defensive options.

Equipment requirements and maintenance

Quality, Item Level and Wearing Level differ

The Basic Info page updated on 13 December 2024 separates normal and Chaos equipment from the Ordinary, Magic, Rare and Unique qualities. Compare qualities through attributes added to basic attack and defense. Item Level concerns the equipment’s inherent stats, while Wearing Level is the character level required to equip it. Quality or Item Level alone does not establish whether a character can wear an item.

Identification and repair affect equipment use

The same dated page describes hidden stats on unidentified equipment, which cannot be used until identified with an Identify Scroll. Combat reduces durability; at zero, equipment is unusable and can be repaired at the Blacksmith NPC. Current identification or repair prices, supplied quantities, balance and first equipment acquisition are unconfirmed. Its description of Chaos equipment NFT trading does not establish a required purchase for ordinary entry.
