Build around a Hero with Units, Buildings, Spells and Artifacts. Heroes gain match experience and unlock skills; a Hero’s death ends the game. Gold-funded units, persistent buildings and immediate spells have different roles. The store highlights mixing faction cards in a deck.

Defeat the hero; trading is separate
A Hero gains match experience and unlocks skills, but its death ends the game. It is both a development centre and the essential piece to preserve. Before committing to a more ambitious board, consider whether the Hero can reach the next situation in which those benefits matter. Development without survival does not complete the plan.
[2]Units, persistent Buildings, immediate Spells and supporting Artifacts operate on different timescales. A Gold-funded unit and a building intended to keep contributing do not answer the same question. Read card types as tools for present needs or later plans, rather than as interchangeable ways to increase a strength total.
[2]The store describes combining factions, giving deck construction a wider pool of roles to coordinate with Hero skills. The NFT FAQ separately says the two versions share functionality and differ visually. Collectibility or tradability should therefore not be treated as evidence of a different combat effect.
